2021 Year End Letter

Our hearts are filled with gratefulness as we approach the holiday season. It is 8 months since we closed on the Bethel Hills property. This 127 acre property is beautiful – peaceful and perfectly located for convenience to amenities, yet quiet and rural. The chapel is a reminder of the presence of the Lord in this community. The existing homes are in the process of remodel and renovation. The first duplex will soon be ready for occupancy. We just started working on the next one.

There are many blessings. We remain debt-free in spite of all the remodeling and start-up costs, though we go month-to-month. Numerous volunteers continue to provide the skills needed to create these homes. The community interest and support is strong. Our board is a working board providing all administrative responsibilities as well as physical labor. God is good and leading every step of the way.

Even so, there are many needs in order to continue moving forward building Bethel Hills. To share a few:

·         The anticipated cost of the duplex we’re just starting will be $220,000.

·         The next remodel for 10-12 people is anticipated at $225,000.

·         Recreation/activity area and programming (art, music, fitness, technology) $65,000.

·         Gymnasium infrastructure repair, $20,000

·         Resurface the road $350,000.

·         Landscaping at the chapel, street lights, repair or replace dam at the pond, sidewalks, patios, greenhouse, chicken house, small barn, and after all this we start Phase 2 building homes.

On the back of this letter is our naming opportunities listing for those who would be interested in their name being attached to a building as a result of their donation. We are incredibly grateful for our first donors toward this opportunity! The event center will be named the Steve Sr. and Susan Kuenzel Event Center! Thank you Steve and Susan!

We realize there are many wonderful charitable donation opportunities coming to your mailbox. We ask you to pray about Bethel Hills. Bethel Hills is an answer to the family asking, “What will happen to my son when we cannot care for him?” Would you consider being a part of the solution for people with developmental disabilities by creating beautiful homes in a supportive, faith-based, stable community where people with and without disabilities live life together to the fullest?

God bless each of you this Thanksgiving as you reflect upon your blessings. We are grateful for you!

Sincerely,

Billie Kramme, President
